Drinkwater - No loan regrets

On-loan Huddersfield midfielder Danny Drinkwater says he does not regret the decision to temporarily leave Manchester United. The 19-year-old had been told by Sir Alex Ferguson that he may be used in his parent club's Carling Cup campaign this season. But that did not stop Drinkwater from making the switch to the Galpharm Stadium in order to gain regular first-team experience. Drinkwater says that he jumped at the chance to join Huddersfield when presented with the options by Ferguson. "While Mr Ferguson told me I might have played in the Carling Cup, he also said I would benefit from the experience of going out on loan," he told the Huddersfield Examiner. "When Huddersfield came in he said it was up to me, but that they were a good club and I would learn a lot under Lee Clark." The Manchester-born player has been a fixture in the Terriers' starting line-up so far this season and hopes the first-team chances will continue to come his way. Drinkwater added: "I'm really enjoying myself here. There are some very good players and the management team is top class. I feel I've already developed and hopefully that will continue."
