Disappointed Evra wants no regrets

Manchester United defender Patrice Evra wants no regrets when he looks himself in the mirror at the end of the current season.[LNB] Evra was reeling with disappointment on Wednesday night after his side crashed out of the Champions League on away goals to Bayern Munich.[LNB]Evra spent a restless night, trying to work out how one of United's best performances of the season should end in such crushing disappointment.[LNB]But once the sun came up, as his manager sought solace in the racing game that has proved such a valuable outlet over the years, so Evra began to see the world in a brighter light as well.[LNB]Evra realises he might complete a full season and not end up as a league champion for the first time since his £5million arrival from Monaco in January 2006.[LNB]However, he is determined that failure will not come without a pretty fierce fight.[LNB]"When the league is finished I want to go to the mirror, look at myself and know I have done everything," he said.[LNB]"I don't want any regrets.[LNB]"It is not about what I expect Chelsea to do. If we want to win the league they need to drop some points.[LNB]"But I am focussed on Manchester United.[LNB]"Is it difficult for us to win five games in a row? I don't think so. We can do it.[LNB]"I was very sad and upset on Wednesday night but when I woke up the next day I realised I had the privilege to win the league again, for the fourth time in a row.[LNB]"I am not saying that just to look good. I believe it. I am ready for the fight."[LNB]Evra is still struggling to find a precise reason why United ended up losing to Bayern after charging into a three-goal lead.[LNB]He is certainly not pinning the blame on defensive colleague Rafael, whose dismissal four minutes into the second half was seen by many as the turning point.[LNB]"I hear a lot of people are blaming Rafael," said Evra. "I cannot believe that.[LNB]"He is a young player. OK he got the red card but Manchester United can win games with 10 men.[LNB]"If something needs to be blamed it is the team. Maybe we did not do the job properly in the first leg.[LNB]"I do know it was a huge shock. I was so disappointed and so sad. I have not turned the TV on or read a paper since."[LNB]
