Paris St Germain are lining up an ?18million move for Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov. [LNB]The French side are on a mammoth spending spree under new Qatari ownership and hope to add the Bulgarian to their ranks in time for the new season. [LNB]Berbatov signed a four-year contract when he arrived from Tottenham in 2008 and the option of a further year was written into the deal. [LNB] Wanted: Dimitar Berbatov (right) is on the radar of Paris St Germain[LNB]But, according to the Daily Mirror, PSG fancy their chances of taking him away from Old Trafford. [LNB]The former Spurs forward was joint top scorer in the Premier League last season with 20 goals but he did not even make the bench for the Champions League final against Barcelona in May. [LNB]Berbatov watched the match on television in the dressing room rather than sit in the stands and there has been a question mark over his future ever since. [LNB]He has been in fine form during United's pre-season matches but while the likes of Javier Hernandez, Park Ji-sung and Antonio Valencia are being offered new deals, there is no movement with Berbatov. [LNB] Settled: Berbatov (back row, 2nd right) seemed happy enough on United's US tour [LNB]United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said: 'Everyone has been talking about Berbatov from the outside, saying he wants to leave or that we want want him to leave, but we don't want him to go. We want him to stay. [LNB]'He scored over 20 goals last season, so there is no desire on our behalf to see him go. From our perspective he has, effectively, two years to go. [LNB]'There's no point in extending that option. We have until the end of the season, so we can assess how it goes, talk to him, see how he performs and see what happens.' [LNB]But PSG are unlikely to be put off as they look to assemble a squad capable of winning a first title since 1994. [LNB]They are close to beating Chelsea to the ?35m capture of Palermo's Javier Pastore and have added Jeremy Menez from Roma and St Etienne midfielder Blaise Matuidi. [LNB]France striker Kevin Gameiro snubbed Newcastle for PSG while Serbian defender Milan Bisevac has also arrived.  [LNB] CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR OUR FREE FANTASY FOOTBALL GAME Sneijder is brilliant!
