All dressed up with nowhere to go: United striker Dimitar Berbatov did not get a game in Romania[LNB]Dimitar Berbatov has refused to come out of international retirement despite hundreds of Bulgaria supporters hijacking Manchester United's Champions League night. [LNB]Berbatov stopped playing for his country in May 2010 but supporters from his homeland travelled to Romania where he was on Champions League duty with United on Tuesday night. [LNB]They hoped the striker, who scored 48 goals in 79 games for his country, would have a change of heart after watching Bulgaria score just three goals in eight games and finishing bottom of their Euro 2012 qualifying group. [LNB] But after warming the bench for the duration of United's 2-0 win over Otelul Galati, Berbatov was standing his ground. [LNB]He said: 'I didn't expect such a reaction. I can't play for the national team if I'm not playing for my club. [LNB]'I would like to thank the fans, it was very pleasant. My team-mates wondered what was happening and I had to explain them (about the noise from the stands).'[LNB] Benchmark: Berbatov has not been starting for Manchester United[LNB] Berbatov is behind Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez in the pecking order at Old Trafford and is also vying with Danny Welbeck and Michael Owen. [LNB]The 30-year-old has started just one Premier League match this season and added: 'I want to get more chances because I know I can help the team. I'll continue to give my best to earn my place in the team.'     [LNB] Play me: Frustrated Berbatov wants to see more action for Manchester United[LNB] Bring on City!
