Debate: Can anyone stop Manchester United winning the Premier League?

21 March 2010 06:58
With just seven Premier League games remaining, United are two points clear of Arsenal with a superior goal difference. Their first-choice defence is finally fit again, Ryan Giggs is back from injury and players like Antonio Valencia and Ji-Sung Park are continuing to impress.

United, however, remain incredibly reliant on Wayne Rooney, and it remains to be seen whether they could cope without their leading scorer. With Champions League commitments also a factor, United could face crunch games twice a week from now until the end of the season, a schedule which would place an incredible strain on Rooney, who has already shouldered plenty of work this season.

Steven Gerrard return to lift Liverpools title hopesAnd what of their rivals? Can Arsenal, who have the most straightforward run-in, keep picking up the points, or will their challenge fade away as the pressure intensifies? Will Chelsea recover from their mini-blip to surge towards the title now that their Champions League hopes are over?
