David Moyes: Will the new Manchester United boss look to his old hunting ground for signings?

It was football's worst kept secret and as the old saying goes ‘the bookies are always right.’ David Moyes was as short as 1-20 to be United's next manager, before it was confirmed that he will be the man to replace Sir Alex Ferguson in the Manchester United hotseat.

Often lauded for his ability to buy wisely at Everton with limited funds, it will be a different story this summer, with the Manchester United board sure to give Moyes a war chest, to make strides in Europe and ensure the Premier League crown stays in the red half of Manchester.

Below is three players that Moyes should sign to try and maintain Sir Alex Fergusons high level and standard at Old Trafford. And perhaps Moyes should look at his former club, Everton, where he spent 11 years, as he hunts for potential signings.

1.) Leighton Baines: The left back has had a super season and is regarded as the Premier Leagues best. Deadly from free kicks the England international could be keen to link up again with Moyes at Manchester United. Though Everton will demand a hefty fee for one of their prized assets.

2.) Marouane Fellaini: Hailed as one of David Moyes best signings at Everton. How the Belgian would love to link up with the Scot again at Manchester United, and the lucrative offer of Champions League football could tempt the afro-haired Belgian into a move. A serious aerial threat Fellaini could play in the midfield, or could prove as an alternative attacking option for the Premier League Champions. Celtics Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama could be an alternative in midfield too.

3.) Robert Lewandowski: What a season the marksman is having, scoring for fun and his four goals against Real Madrid sent shockwaves around the football world. Bayern Munich are tipped to land the Polish star but what a coup it would be if Moyes was to land the Borussia Dortmund target man. With many tipping former Evertonian Wayne Rooney to leave Manchester it could be a possibility.

Sir Alex Fergusons shoes will be hard to fill but it is sure that Moyes will spend big this summer, some are even dreaming of the return of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, whatever happens, it is sure to be a busy transfer window for the Champions elect.
