David Beckham: Tottenham lead chase to sign midfielder

Tottenham lead the chase to sign David Beckham who wants a return to the Barclays Premier League after his contract at LA Galaxy runs out.[LNB]Beckham's deal in America will end soon and French Ligue 1 side Paris St Germain have made clear their desire to sign him. [LNB]But the 36-year-old midfielder wants to return home and Tottenham are best positioned to land his signature, according to the People. [LNB] London calling: Beckham's time in LA could be coming to an end[LNB]PSG had lead the way in attempting to land Becks ahead of next summer's London Olympics, with the cluib's Qatari owners hoping to cash-in on his world wide brand influence. [LNB]Qatari investors have ploughed millions into the capital club since buying it in May, and the 36-year-old former England captain, whose LA Galaxy contract ends in the coming weeks, is seen as a key target.[LNB]'David Beckham goes beyond the sport. He is an ambassador, he is a brand, he is an example to others,' PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi said.
