David Beckham hits out at Manchester City

David Beckham has delivered a crushing assessment of Manchester City's title credentials by insisting 'there's only one team in Manchester'.[LNB]The United legend will come face to face with City this weekend when his current club LA Galaxy host Roberto Mancini's side on their US tour. [LNB]Big-spending City are widely tipped to pose the biggest challenge to Sir Alex Ferguson and his team when they begin the defence of their record 19th Premier League crown, with their chances of glory increased by the imminent signing of Sergio Aguero for ?38million. [LNB] In another Galaxy: David Beckham and his LA team-mates will face Manchester City this weekend[LNB]The boys in Blue from across town finished third last season, securing Champions League football for the first time, and lifted a first piece of silverware in more than 30 years when they beat Stoke in May's FA Cup final.[LNB]Beckham, though, who won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and one European Cup during his time at Old Trafford, insists United's rich history and experience will ensure they keep at least one step ahead of their great rivals.[LNB]Asked if he is tipping City to become title contenders, Beckham replied on Sky Sports News: 'I shouldn't answer! They're bringing good players in, they've got strong people witha lot of money behind them, so they're going to improve.[LNB] Familiar scenes: David Beckham won six Premier League titles during his stint at Old Trafford[LNB]'But they'll never be Manchester United. They might be a threat this season, but United have got the history, the silverware over the last 20 years. There's only one team in Manchester, but City I'm sure will be a team to look at going forward.'[LNB]While City are certainly on the up, it hasn't all been sweetness and light for them this summer as the Carlos Tevez transfer saga continues to unsettle them during pre-season. [LNB]The Argentine is desperate to leave the club in order to be closer to his two daughters, but just this week saw adream move to Brazilian outfit Corinthians collapse for financial reasons. [LNB] Lads on tour: City are currently enjoying pre-season in the USA[LNB]Beckham believes losing the talismanic forward will be a bitter blow to City's title hopes but has little concern about how he will be replaced by the Arab millions at the club's disposal. [LNB]'Tevez was a really strong player for them last season, so if they lose him it will be disappointing,' he added. 'But they've got a lot behind them as an organisation, so they can afford to bring world class players in. If they continue to do that I'm sure they'll be strengthened.'[LNB]Beckham, whose wife Victoria has just given birth to their fourth child, a daughter named Harper Seven, was booked during LA Galaxy's 1-0 win over Columbus Crew on Wednesday night, inadvertently delivering the assist for Sean Franklin.
