Manchester United could add Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio to their title winning squad, according to reports in Italy.

Sir Alex Ferguson has already revealed to the club's official magazine, Inside United, that the summer recruitment plans are already high in motion and new faces in the centre of the park are likely to be high on the list.

United legends Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs are another year older while Anderson has gone another season without realising his full potential. Darren Fletcher has missed the majority of the season through illness and some say he could never play professional football again.

Mediaset claim the midfielder is ready to look for a new challenge outside Serie A, nd Marchisio has an abundance of impressive traits Ferguson is likely to admire. The Italian international is an engine in the Juve midfield, whilst possesses the ability to break down opposing defences with quick, intricate passing.

The 27-year-old has made 26 league appearances this campaign, scoring six goals and has no doubt learnt plenty from Andrea Pirlo alongside him in the middle of Juve's team.
