Contract boost for United duo - report

MANCHESTER United forward Danny Welbeck is set to be rewarded with a new four-year contract at Old Trafford, according to a report. The Longsight-born star, 18, has made two appearances this season and scored the goal that knocked Wolves out of the Carling Cup. Now boss Sir Alex Ferguson is set to reward the youngster with a new £12,000-per-week deal, report The Sun. Meanwhile, Belgian defender Ritchie De Laet has had  his contract extended to 2012.
