There is interest in the player coming from Real Madrid and Paris St Germain who are said to have already been in touch with Cole's representatives.
But Cole is said to want a move in that keeps him in the Premier League and with Alex Ferguson showing an interest in the player before, Old Trafford might not seem such a stab in the dark.
