Cold Shoulder For Rio

Rio Ferdinand missed out on being picked for the latest England squad with Roy Hodgson preferring to pick Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross.

The news was hardly a big surprise with it coming a day after Hodgson revealed Ferdinand was dropped to fellow London Underground passengers.

Hodgson's options in central defence have been reduced after Terry quit England duty last month before he was found guilty by the Football Association of racially abusing Ferdinand's brother, Anton.
