City Blow Chance To Apply Pressure

Manchester City had the chance to turn the screw on United on Tuesday when they faced the leagues bottom club QPR.

Manchester's other team could not manage to break down the resistance from Harry Redknapp's side and the two teams drew 0-0.

This leaves City four points behind United ahead of the Red's game with Southampton at Old Trafford on Wednesday, a win for United would put the leaders seven points clear once again.

"We are disappointed for this result," City manager Roberto Mancini said to reporters after the game.

"We had our chances to win, and we dominated the game, but QPR defended very well, got players behind the ball. We lost two points, for sure."
