Keep track of all the latest action with Sportsmail.[LNB] Champions LeagueWerder Bremen 1-2 Tottenham[LNB]Goals: Pasanen og,12, Crouch 18, Hugo Almeida 43.[LNB]Manchester United 0-0 Rangers[LNB]Goals: [LNB]20.40: Manchester United for all their efforts have looked toothless against Rangers.[LNB]The Scots have not looked very adventurous, but a draw will be a fantastic result for them.[LNB]20.33: A little wake up call for Spurs just before half-time. They have looked good but they really did fall asleep for Bremen's goal, and they are facing a big test of character for the second half.[LNB]20.32: Half-time: Manchester United 0-0 Rangers[LNB]20.31: Half-time: Werder Bremen 1-2 Tottenham[LNB]20.28: GOAL! Werder Bremen 1-2 Tottenham[LNB]Setback for Spurs, In similar fashion to their second, Wesley plays a ball in to the box where Hugo Almeida heads home in between Ledley King and Benoit Assou-Ekotto[LNB]20.25: The play is just too slow at Old Trafford and it is playing right in to Rangers favour. Any of you looking for a textbook display on how to defend, Rangers can provide it.[LNB]20.23: Both Sam Allardyce and David Moyes are side by side in the stands at Old Trafford, if it's entertainment they are after they have come to the wrong place.[LNB]20.21: First real effort for Allan McGregor to deal with, as Darren Gibson's low effort (and he can hit them) from outside the box forces him in to a comfortable save.[LNB]20.16: It could have been three! Bale wins the ball in midfield and he shrugs off a challenge to burst in to the box and fire at goal. Tim Wiese can only parry it and Crouch and Jenas just both miss out on hitting the rebound.[LNB]20.13: Beginners luck (probably) for Spurs. Marin's shot clearly hits the raised arm of Tom Huddlestone in the box, but the ref only gives a corner. There could have been no complaints if that was given.[LNB] Roo's back: Rooney is back in action for United[LNB]20.11: Credit to Rangers they are defending very well here, United for all their play and territory have hardly threatened.[LNB]20.08: Spurs remain on top, but they have to watch for the counter, Marko Marin leads a quick counter which Spurs only survive through conceding a corner.[LNB]20.06: Over 20 minutes gone at Old Trafford and neither goal keeper has yet to make a save, very tepid so far.[LNB]20.00: GOAL! Werder Bremen 0-2 Tottenham[LNB]Whatever the Spurs players had for their pre-match meal I want some. Rafael van der Vaart sends in a delightful cross for Peter Crouch who towers above the defence to double Spurs' lead.[LNB] Opener: Peter Crouch celebrates Spurs' first goal[LNB]19.56: GOAL! Werder Bremen 0-1 Tottenham[LNB]Dream start for Spurs, Gareth Bale low ball across the box is turned in to his own goal by Petri Pasanen, having been under pressure from Peter Crouch.[LNB]19.53: Exciting start at the Weserstadion, very even and end to end, as Wesley fires just wide of Carlo Cudicini's near post.[LNB] Pace: Gareth Bale proved a menace early on for Spurs[LNB]19.51: Rangers have all but one behind the ball at Old Trafford, backs to the wall so far for the visitors and they are looking comfortable, but is that really sustainable over 90 minutes?[LNB]19.49: United also on top at Old Trafford but it's all sparring right now.[LNB]19.48: Spurs starting brightly in Germany, worth noting that the extra officials from last year's Europa League are in action for this season's Champions League, let us wait and see what they will miss this season...come on it is inevitable.[LNB]19.46: The 2011 Champions League is up and running...[LNB]19.43: All the are out, Spurs get their first group stage taste of Champions League music and we are all set to get underway in both games.[LNB]19.35: Any thoughts on tonight's matches are always welcome so whether it's about how well/bad Spurs will do in this group or how the 'Battle of Britain' will pan out, send me in your comments to dan.ripley@dailymail.co.uk[LNB]19.32: One thing is for sure, Ferguson is sure his side does not lack quality as Matt Lawton explains here.[LNB] History: Danny Blanchflower scores a penalty against Benfica in the semi-final of the 1962 European Cup[LNB]19.25: As mentioned it has been a while for Spurs.[LNB]Lee McCulloch and Nani were the last players to score in this competition for Rangers and Manchester United respectively.[LNB]But you have to go back to 1962 the last time a Spurs player found the net proper. In fitting fashion it was legendary skipper Danny Blanchflower.[LNB]19.24: So who will win the Champions League? According to our experts none of these three, but click here to find out who they think will.[LNB]19.22: Despite early encouraging signs that he might feature, there is no Luka Modric for Tottenham who will line up in a 4-5-1, which features a surprise start for Jermaine Jenas.[LNB]19.20: For Rangers, David Weir will join the rare club of over 40s that have appeared in the Champions League, he will have his work cut out with Hernandez and Rooney up against him.[LNB]19.18: Ten changes, that's right, ten changes are made to the Manchester United side that drew 3-3 at Everton.[LNB]Wayne Rooney may be one of those coming in, but with the likes of Chris Smalling, Javier Hernandez and Tomasz Kuszczak also appearing in the first XI, has Sir Alex under estimated Rangers?[LNB]19.16: Here is the team news...and it makes for interesting reading...[LNB]Werder Bremen v TottenhamWerder Bremen: Wiese, Fritz, Pasanen, Prodl, Silvestre, Frings, Bargfrede, Marin, Wesley, Arnautovic, Hugo Almeida. Subs: Alexander, Lafferty, Foster, Beattie, Weiss, Little, Hutton.Referee: Olegario Benquerenca (Portugal)[LNB]19.15: Tottenham Hotspur, welcome to the big time. Having not been involved on the biggest stage since 1962, it has certainly been a while but as they say there is no time like the present.[LNB]Spurs will be hoping they avoid stage fright in Germany tonight as they announce themselves on Europe's top tier, Werder Bremen you can be sure will provide a fair test.[LNB]Of course it's not just Spurs in action. As far as Manchester United are concerned it's that time of the year again as they take part in their record 16th Champions League campaign, and will not be phased by their all British encounter to kick things off.[LNB]Rangers also are a familiar face in the Champions League but they are massive underdogs in their visit to Old Trafford this evening, as they look to make big improvements on their dismal campaign from last season which saw them pick up just two points.[LNB]Team news on the way.[LNB] Welcome to the big league: Spurs start their campaign in Bremen tonight[LNB] Fergie's fire burns bright: United are not short of quality, says Sir AlexHarry must learn fast for Tottenham to thrive in the Champions LeagueChampions League predictions: So who will lift the trophy at Wembley?
