Fulham v Liverpool as a European final anyone? Has a strange sort of ring to it, eh? [LNB] [LNB]Once more the two English teams are kept apart in the semi-finals raising the prospect of both Champions League and Europa League finals being all-English affairs ... [LNB] [LNB]So Liverpool will fancy their chances against another team rich in European history but consigned for now in Europe's second tier competition. [LNB]It doesn't get any easier for Fulham, facing the reigning champions of Germany, though Wolfsburg have struggled to live up to last season's standards and after the incredible win over Juventus Fulham will approach the tie with no fear. [LNB]Hamburg, who will host the final, will be grateful for a kind draw that keeps alive their chances of attending their own party while the all-Spanish tie will remove one of the dangerous teams before the semi-final good news for both English sides with designs on claiming the title. [LNB] [LNB]Fulham are at home first in their quarter-final with Wolfsburg while Liverpool have home advantage in the second leg against Portuguese side Benfica. [LNB]In the other ties Valencia face Atletico Madrid while Hamburg will play Standard Liege. [LNB] [LNB]After the drama of the Champions League draw (see details below) it is Liverpool and Fulham's turn to learn their fate in the Europa League after Rafa Benitez's side eased past Lille and Fulham staged a remarkable comeback to put out Juventus on a historic night at Craven Cottage. The neutral's first pick final of Manchester United against Barcelona and Wayne Rooney v Lionel Messi is still of with the two favourites being put in different sides of the draw and also the possibility of another all-English final is on, too, with Arsenal hoping to get the better of the reigning champions. [LNB]An all-French tie is intriguing while Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan's reward for the sacking of Stamford Bridge is two games against the relative unknown quantity of the draw in CSKA Moscow. [LNB]Should Arsenal beat Barcelona their second leg of a semi-final would be at home while United will be confident that either of the two French teams can be bested even playing at Old Trafford first in their prospective semi-final. [LNB]United will be very, very pleased with that draw. Arsenal may not but the prospect of their two matches with Barcelona is a sumptuous one for the rest of us. [LNB] [LNB]So Manchester United will be very, very pleased with that one, Arsenal less so. [LNB]Bayern may have a reputation but there are better teams left in the competition and playing the second leg at Old Trafford means United will fancy their chances. [LNB]Arsenal, by contrast, got the worst possible outcome from the draw. Not only are they up against the clear favourites in Barcelona but they will play their second leg in the Nou Camp. [LNB] [LNB]In the semi-finals it is Lyon or Bordeaux to face the winner of Manchester United's tie with Bayern Munich while if Arsenal can get past Barcelona they will play either Inter Milan or CSKA Moscow. [LNB] [LNB]Arsenal draw Barcelona the first leg at home. Inter Milan will play CSKA Moscow. [LNB] [LNB]Manchester United will have a repeat of their 1999 final with Bayern Munich with the second leg at Old Trafford [LNB] [LNB]First out of the bowl is Lyon who will have a local spat with Bordeaux.
