Champions League Draw: LIVE

18 March 2011 10:22
11.15 - Here we go: First game out is Real Madrid v Tottenham Hotspur!

11.10 - England legend Gary Lineker will be helping with the draw. Spurs fans must be hoping their former player can do them a favour...

11.05 - The draw is offically underway but it could be a while before we see any names being picked out. At the moment we're being treated to a video of the highlights from this year's competition, all set to dramatic music and London scenery. Lovely.

11.00 - As well as the Champions League draw there's also the Europa League today, although there will be no British involvement after Liverpool, Manchester City and Rangers all crashed out yesterday evening.

10.55 - In the practice draw this morning Tottenham were paired with Manchester United and Chelsea got Shalke. A sign of things to come perhaps?

10.50 - If Real Madrid and Barcelona are drawn together today, they will face each other four times in just 15 days in April. Twice in the Champions League, once in La Liga and once in the Copa del Rey final. Interesting.

10.35 - If you didn't know already the eight teams involved in today's draw are: Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Shalke, Inter Milan and Shaktar Donetsk. We'll also find out the semi-final draw today, showing teams the route they will need to take to reach Wembley on May 28th.

10.30 - For the first time this season there no restrictions in the Champions League draw. In other words, anyone can face anyone. So Manchester United could get either Chelsea or Tottenham, or the two London clubs could face each other. Barcelona could even get Real Madrid!

Football.co.uk's Joe Strange brings you all the build-up to today's Champions League quarter-final and semi-final draws. Find out who awaits Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham in the last eight.
