Carrick targets double triumph
Michael Carrick claims it would be a double triumph if Manchester United can wrap up the title on Saturday.
Carrick stole the headlines on Wednesday when he inspired the Red Devils to yet another comeback when they beat Wigan 2-1
The United midfielder first set up Carlos Tevez before grabbing the winner at the JJB stadium which could prove the decisive factor on where the Premier League title lies this season.
The 27-year-old believes clinching the league against Arsene Wenger's side will not only end Liverpool's hopes of snatching the title but also send out a message to the other pretenders of the throne for the 2009/2010 campaign.
"Arsenal were quite close to us last season but there is quite a big gap now," admitted former West Ham and Tottenham man Carrick.
"They have some great players at the club and for whatever reason, this season has not quite worked for them.
"At the moment there are four teams who believe they can win this league each season and you have to include Arsenal in that because they were so close last year.
"But it does not take a lot to slip away.
"We know how tough it has become and that is why it would be even more satisfying if we can pull it off tomorrow."
