Carrick Blow

On a weekend when Manchester United welcome back Rio Ferdinand and Anderson back to the squad, United have been given the bad news that Michael Carrick will not be available. An Achilles tendon problem is keeping the player out of Premier League games this season so far, although he did play in the Community Shield.Alex Ferguson said: "He should be out for three weeks, maybe a month at most.""It has been bothering him for a few weeks, so we sent him to a specialist in London and he had an injection.""We`re hoping that settles it down.""We have been considering what we should do about it. The best thing is to get it treated and out of the road now because everyone in the squad is fit."
