Manchester City's Carling Cup semi-final with Manchester United on Wednesday has been postponed due to heavy snow.

Although the first-leg tie was not due to be played at Eastlands until Wednesday evening, there was no prospect of the game taking place due to the weather conditions in Manchester overnight and officials have called the game off.

The tie will now take place on January 19, which was originally the date for the second leg. That match will now take place on Wednesday, January 27.

Tuesday night's other semi-final clash Blackburn at home to Aston Villa, has also fallen victim to the weather.
