Capello's Ferd degree: Rio forced to explain his gaffe to England boss
Rio Ferdinand has twice been forced to explain the latest mistake in his string of costly errors to Fabio Capello.
The England manager has pulled Ferdinand aside on each of the last two days to discuss the slip against Ukraine which led to a penalty and goalkeeper Robert Green's red card.
The defender keeps his place against Belarus on Wednesday night for his 76th cap but Capello said: 'I spoke with Rio on Monday and yesterday. I spoke with him about the moment and different things from the last game. He is a good man, an important player for England. Really good.'
Capello and his squad studied the DVD of the 1-0 defeat by Ukraine last night. 'We need to understand what happened and I will see the mistakes,' said the Italian.
