Sunderland have completed the signing of striker Fraizer Campbell from Manchester United for an initial fee of £3.5million, potentially rising to £6million.[LNB] The 21-year-old has agreed a four-year deal with the Black Cats, after successfully completing a medical at the Stadium of Light.[LNB] Campbell spent most of last season on loan at Tottenham, where he helped the team reach the Carling Cup final before being ruled ineligible to face the Red Devils - who went on to win on penalties.[LNB] The Huddersfield-born player came through the ranks at Old Trafford before going on loan to Royal Antwerp at the start of the 2006/07 season.[LNB] Success in Belgium was recognised by Sir Alex Ferguson, who handed Campbell his debut as a substitute in the derby against Manchester City at Eastlands in August 2007.[LNB] Campbell then went on loan to Hull where 15 goals in 32 starts saw him help the Tigers to the Premier League.[LNB] It had appeared he would make a permanent move to the KC Stadium when the clubs agreed a fee earlier this summer but the lure of the north-east won out.
