Bryan Robson wants Wayne Rooney to stay at Manchester United

Manchester United great Bryan Robson hopes Wayne Rooney has 'seen sense' and will stay at Old Trafford for many more years. Rooney's future at United was cast in doubt last month when it was revealed by outgoing manager Sir Alex Ferguson that the striker had put in a second transfer request. The issue is one that will now be dealt with by new manager David Moyes, under whom Rooney played as a teenager at Everton before his high-profile transfer in 2004. And Robson, who spent 13 seasons at Old Trafford from 1981 to 1994, has urged Rooney to end any thoughts of leaving the club. "There was a bit of a problem towards the end of the season between Wayne and Sir Alex Ferguson but I hope he sees sense," he told Sky Sports News. "There is no better club to be at than Manchester United and if David Moyes says he wants him to stay I would love him to, because he is a great player. "He is a real asset to the club and I'd like to see him play here for many more years."
