Dimitar Berbatov admits he joined Manchester United to win the UEFA Champions League.

The Bulgarian will be aiming to help United continue the defence of their trophy when they take on Inter Milan in their last 16 tie on Tuesday night.

Berbatov is confident United can go all the way to Rome believing they have the players to retain Europe's premier competition.

"I came here to win the Champions League," said Berbatov.

"Manchester United are capable of doing that again. We have the team and the players.

"We are facing a very good team tomorrow.

"But we have good players as well. It will be a great game to watch and hopefully we can take a good result back to Old Trafford for the second leg."

Berbatov admitted he moved to Old Trafford to develop as a player and he believes he is getting better with every game.

"I joined United to develop," added Berbatov.

"I feel I am doing that more and more. But only time will tell whether I was right or not."
