Benzema to remain at Lyon

Karim Benzema has made it clear that he intends to stay at Lyon for one more season.[LNB] The 21-year-old striker has been linked with some of Europe's top clubs over the last few months, with Manchester United, Inter Milan and Barcelona all reportedly interested in securing his services.[LNB]Benzema had previously stated that he would not make a decision on his future until he had seen how Lyon fared in the UEFA Champions League this season.[LNB]The French champions crashed out of Europe in midweek as they lost 5-2 to Barcelona in the second leg of their last-16 tie.[LNB]However, Benzema maintains that he will not look for a move away from Lyon before next summer's World Cup.[LNB]"My future? I will remain at Lyon," Benzema told reporters. [LNB]"I have to reach new levels. I am fine at Lyon, where I am well surrounded. I still have time, until the next World Cup."[LNB]A lot to learnBenzema insists he is happy at Stade Gerland and does not feel he needs to leave at this stage of his career.[LNB]"I prefer to go on working here," he explained. "I will go on growing at Lyon.[LNB]"It is only my second season as a first-team member, and I have to learn a lot of things, both on and off the pitch.[LNB]"I will do my best to go on improving, with the help of my team-mates. [LNB]"I still have time for great clubs, moreover Lyon is a great club. Actually I have always wanted to stay."[LNB]
