Becks backing old boys

David Beckham is backing former club Manchester United to retain the UEFA Champions League trophy.[LNB] The 33-year-old former Red Devil believes Sir Alex Ferguson's side are currently the strongest side in Europe, although he is wary of the threat posed by Liverpool.[LNB]The ex-Real Madrid man would love to see Manchester United tackle high-flying Barcelona in this year's final which will be staged at Stadio Olimpico in Rome.[LNB]Beckham cannot play for AC Milan in this year's competition although he hopes to add to his appearances in the tournament next season, even if it means facing United.[LNB]Love to see"I'd like to see United play Barcelona in this season's Champions League final," Beckham told the Daily Star Sunday.[LNB]"My old team-mates would win, as right now United are too strong for everybody else.[LNB]"That is even thought Liverpool are a frightening prospect when Steve Gerrard is playing for them.[LNB]"I really miss playing the Champions League. Maybe I'll get to play in a final against United.[LNB]"It could be a problem, but if I played for Milan against United next year I would want to win it, even though I am a United fan."[LNB]
