David Beckham is set to buy our part of his contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy to stay with AC Milan.
The complicated deal is set to be finalised in the next 24 hours after weeks of negotiations with the England international getting the best of both worlds.
Former Manchester United hero Beckham will remain on loan with Milan until May 31 when the Italian season ends and then return to the Galaxy, probably in early July for the second part of the Major League Soccer season.

Financial details of the deal have not been revealed but it is understood to amount to a deal worth around £10m - three times Milan's initial bid to buy Beckham permanently.
Some of the money, believed to be half the £10million, will come from Milan as a payment for the extended loan - the original loan was due to end on March 9 - with a further payment coming in November when the move to Milan is made permanent.

The other £5m would come from Beckham as compensation for leaving MLS with two years remaining on his contract.
AC Milan general manager Adriano Galliani said: 'Negotiations are getting more intense. I hope to manage to arrange for him to stay here at least until June 30 on loan.
'Then he could return to Los Angeles and come back in January. It's a complicated path, as we have always known, but I'm trying.'
Beckham has won praise for his performances for the Rossoneri and has scored two Serie A goals since his arrival.
All parties involved in the mega-deal - the Galaxy, AC Milan, AEG who own the Galaxy, MLS plus Beckham himself - are close to a final agreement.
It would mean Beckham playing 18 months almost non-stop football up to the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa but without the top class football Milan can offer Fabio Capello would be unlikely to continue to select the midfielder.

After the Italian season ends Beckham hopes to play in the World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan on June 6 and against Andorra four days later before taking a short break.
He cannot rejoin the Galaxy until the MLS international transfer window opens on July 15 though he could train with them before then.
Beckham's first match for the Galaxy of 2009 is set to be away to the New York Red Bulls on July 18.
In the meantime Beckham's non-stop jet-set lifestyle continues tomorrow as Milan play a lucrative friendly against the Qatari club Al Sadd in Doha.
