Bayern to match Ribery's ambition

Christian Nerlinger hopes that matching Franck Ribery's ambition will help convince the superstar to stay with Bayern Munich. The France international has two years remaining on his Allianz Arena contract, although reported interest from a host of Europe's top clubs is testing the player's resolve. Ribery has expressed his desire to play for one of Europe's elite, but Bayern are strongly against losing the player who they claim is 'one of the best three players' in world football. Sporting director Nerlinger says Bayern, who have captured the likes of Mario Gomez and Anatoliy Tymoschuk this summer, are building a team around the Frenchman. "We have got to provide Franck with the perspective of being on the same level as Europe's elite," he told Bild am Sonntag. "That is what he wants and then he will be happy in Munich. In the mid-term, we will have very, very positive conditions here. "We have got to offer him a top European club."
