Bayern hint at Ribery sale

Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer has hinted Franck Ribery could be allowed to leave the club. Ribery's future at Bayern has been the subject of intense speculation in recent weeks with a host of Europe's top clubs chasing his signature. Big-spending Real Madrid have declared an interest in signing the talented attacker, while Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona are also thought to be courting the 26-year-old. Bayern have always insisted they have no plans to sell Ribery, but the German giants have now softened their stance with Beckenbauer suggesting the French international can leave if he wants to. "We discussed the issue at our last board meeting and we all agreed that, if he really wants to leave, then we will deal with the issue," Beckenbauer told Bild. Reports emanating from Spain suggest Real are leading the chase for the sought-after Ribery by offering Rafael van der Vaart and Wesley Sneijder as makeweights in the deal.
