Baraclough relishing Fergie battle

Scunthorpe caretaker boss Ian Baraclough is relishing the prospect of locking horns with Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Baraclough, 39, will clash with Ferguson when the Iron host United in the third round of the Carling Cup on Wednesday night.

Baraclough is set to be named as Scunthorpe's permanent manager after being placed in caretaker charge following Nigel Adkins' move to Southampton.

He said: "It will only be my third game as manager and I will be up against Sir Alex who has been involved in more than a thousand games. But I can't wait."
