The fate of the Premier League's latest victim of the sack was sealed as soon as Javier Hernandez fired United into a 37 second lead against Chelsea on May 8th according to the Sun. Carlo Ancelotti bit the bullet yesterday after failing to deliver for Chelsea, they have a season without silverware while United seal a 19th title and go off to a Champions League final at Wembley on the 28th. Hernandez’s goal was said to be the final straw for Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who decided at that moment that Ancelotti must go, leaving the rich Russian to seek his seventh manager in eight years at Stamford Bridge. And while United were putting four goals past a Blackpool side that said goodbye to the Premier League, Chelsea went down 1-0 away to Everton and soon after the final whistle, the news of his departure filtered through.
