Loan star: Beckham enjoyed his first spell at Milan [LNB]David Beckham is hoping to play against his former club Manchester United in the Champions League when he joins AC Milan in January.   [LNB]While United will be seeded for the knockout stages, Milan will not be as they head into Friday's draw in Nyon.   [LNB]That means United are among six teams they could be drawn against.   [LNB]'I would really like to face my former team in the next round,' said Beckham, who will join AC Milan on a six-month loan deal from Los Angeles Galaxy when the transfer window re-opens.   [LNB]'Since I left (United) in 2003, I have not returned to play at Old Trafford. Seven years have gone by and I would like for that to happen.   [LNB]'Me against Manchester, it would be beautiful, wouldn't it?'[LNB]The England midfielder, who won the Champions League with United in 1999, spent a decade with the Red Devils before moving to Real Madrid, and knows how challenging the tie against last season's runners-up would be.   [LNB]  'It would be very difficult,' said Beckham to Gazzetta dello Sport. 'But it will be very exciting. I like big challenges and I would love to play that type of game.   [LNB]'I would love to win the Champions League because it is a special competition, where the strongest teams compete.'[LNB]The 34-year-old's priority until then is to earn a regular spot in Leonardo's Milan.[LNB]Beckham was a key player for former AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti last season and the Galaxy star will be eager to earn a starting role under Leonardo in the hope of making Fabio Capello's World Cup squad.   [LNB]'I  am delighted to return to Italy,' said Beckham. 'I can't wait to go back to Milan. I am counting the days and there is only two weeks to go.   [LNB]'Above everything, I want to be a part of this fantastic group. It's not important which position I play in midfield, the important thing is how I play.'[LNB] Same again: Beckham got his hands on the Champions League trophy in 1999[LNB] Manchester United 3 Wolverhampton Wanderers 0: Much-changed Wolves are like lambs to the slaughter at Old TraffordTHE LIST: Top 50 players of the decade in the Premier League - Nos 30-21Fab concern over Owen: Ferguson should use United striker more oftenRyan Giggs: What they say about Man United's man for all seasonsEngland's World Cup 2018 hopefuls ready to discover who will host gamesMANCHESTER UNITED FC
