Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has claimed that his team's emergence as genuine title contenders has the rest of the Barclays Premier League running scared. [LNB]Mancini believes City can challenge for the top position after spending heavily on his squad over the last two months. He has heard other Premier League managers suggest he may be under pressure to win something but on Sunday night hit back. [LNB] Ready or not, here we come: Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini believes the Premier League's top teams are running scared[LNB]Mancini said: 'Other teams are saying this because for 10 years there were only four teams challenging for the title. All these teams over the years have spent a lot of money, not just us. Manchester United, Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool. They seem to have done like City do now. There isn't a difference.' [LNB]Asked if his rivals in the Premier League are now scared of City, Mancini said: 'I think so. At the moment, only we are in the market buying players. But that is because we want to improve and the other teams are big teams already.' [LNB]On his way? Stephen Ireland has been linked with a move away from Eastlands this summer[LNB]Mancini, who has told midfielder Stephen Ireland he is not part of his plans for the coming season, hopes this week to add Aston Villa midfielder James Milner and Inter Milan forward Mario Balotelli to the four players he has already brought to Eastlands this summer. [LNB]City are considering adding Ireland to their bid to prise Milner from Villa after telling him he will struggle to make it into the club's 25-man Premier League squad.[LNB]Suggestions of a row here between Mancini and Ireland have been denied. However, it is understood that the Irishman knows his City future is bleak. Ireland, who asked to leave the club last May, spoke to reporters about his future on Friday. [LNB]He said: 'I decided in the summer that I was going to get my head down and show the manager that I am worth a place on his team. It didn't go that well last season but it is only a season ago that I was player of the year and I haven't become a bad player overnight.' [LNB]Mancini has admitted that he has one eye on Fernando Torres's situation at Liverpool. City do not expect to bid for Torres this summer but Mancini said: 'Torres is one of the best strikers in Europe. It depends on his situation - his price and whether he wants to come.'
