The Ivory Coast international hit the target in the second half of his team's 2-0 victory over Latics at the DW Stadium after being set up by Carlos Tevez.
City signed Toure from Barcelona for £24million this summer as they look to make an assault on the Premier League title, and the player admitted he was delighted to be settling in and is now relishing the prospect of the huge match against Chelsea on Saturday.
"I am very happy with my first goal in the Premier League, it was a great cross by Carlito," he said.
"I am happy to score the second important goal that kills the game and makes us relax for the finish.
"I am settling very well with the help of everyone, not only my brother (Kolo).
"The team spirit looks very good here. We have a big game against Chelsea next week.
"To be honest I can't wait for that game, it is a huge game and I love the adrenaline for those kind of matches and the build-up involved. As a child you dream about these types of matches."
