Wright-Phillips staying put

Shaun Wright-Phillips has shrugged off media reports linking him with a possible move away from Eastlands. The England international winger has fallen down the pecking order under Roberto Mancini this season but despite reports to the contrary Wright-Phillips has outlined his intentions to stay and fight for a regular starting role with City. "I don't believe in quitting. I have always wanted to stay and there's no reason to go," he has said."The club want me to stay, too, and the challenge for me now is to help City achieve the goals they want to achieve."I don't think about being on the bench, I think about playing my part even if it does mean coming on to clear one off the line."I'm excited about all the players coming in. We learn from each other, there is great banter and great team spirit."We all give something different to the team and there will be times when we are all needed in different parts of the game."
