Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has been banned for three league games by the Football Association.[LNB] The England international was found guilty of violent conduct for an incident during Man City's recent 1-0 defeat to Stoke.[LNB]Potters midfielder Rory Delap was sent off for kicking the ball at the 27-year-old from point blank range after the referee's whistle had gone but the former Chelsea ace lashed out, kicking Delap in the leg.[LNB]Wright-Phillips' reaction went unnoticed by referee Martin Atkinson at the time but on later inspection after the game the official stated that had he witnessed the retaliation on the City man's part he would have sent him off as well.[LNB]The FA have concurred with Atkinson and the midfielder's ban comes in with immediate effect.[LNB]City will be without their wide man for the away trips to Portsmouth, Liverpool and West Ham.[LNB]
