With Yaya Toure back at City, so is the Premier League title race

The return of Yaya Toure from the African Nations Cup is sure to be a welcome boost for the Citizens as they were clearly struggling in his absence. His influence was so much missed that Manchester City managed to win just a single game for the entirety of his African adventure . That run of form actually turned out to be the poorest since 2009.

One does hope that whatever Toure usually contributes to the team comes in truckloads as Chelsea have taken a commanding role in the race to glory. His bursts of pace and amazing power would probably have been enough to force a win against a rather hapless Chelsea side which would have shifted the balance of power in the race for the first spot. However, best to look forward as Barcelona are looming in the shadows no doubt with the ultimate aim of once again being the best in Europe.

Contrary to most pundits, the lanky midfielder certainly thinks City can still win the Premier League title as he has been quoted as saying, “If we are to achieve it we have to win all the games.” There was no doubt conviction in this battle cry and yet the possibility of winning every game at this stage of the season is next to nil. All the same, a stronger City provides a good viewing for the neutral.
