[LNB]What do you mean you had no idea the Under 20 World Cup had started in Egypt last week?[LNB]The kids are the future, you know, and this is the tournament where you get to see the stars of tomorrow - first.[LNB] Enlarge The stage is set: The Under 20 World Cup opening ceremony at the Borg el-Arab stadium in Egypt last week[LNB]Previous competitions have given us our first look at young stars such as Maradona, Kaka, Luis Figo, Roberto Carlos, Thierry Henry, Xavi Hernandez, Michael Owen and Michael Essien. [LNB]Not a bad list. [LNB]The tournament runs for the next three weeks with the final being held at Cairo's 74,000 capacity International stadium on October 16. [LNB]So, with an array of Premier League talent on show, Sportsmail gives you insight into the Three Lions squad and all the other young stars featuring from our top-flight clubs.[LNB]ENGLAND Adam Clayton, 20, Manchester CityFrom playing with your mates at to school to training with Robinho in the space of a couple of years isn't bad for the highly-rated midfielder who has been with the Citizens since he was seven. Won the Youth Cup last term and trains regularly with the first team. [LNB]Andrew Tutte, 19, Manchester CityCity's skilful midfielder got on the scoresheet with a great header when they triumphed over Chelsea in the Youth Cup Final last season. He also rejected an offer to play for Liberia - he qualifies after being born in Monrovia - to play for England. Loan spells at Swansea and Hereford have given Brandy confidence and he bagged a brace on his Under-20s debut in August.  [LNB]Matthew James, 18, Manchester UnitedPrimarily a midfielderbut can play in defence, James had a cracking season last year and wasoffered a pro contract in the summer. [LNB]Jason Steele, 19, MiddlesbroughPlayedcentre-midfield for school but has taken up residency between the postsfor 'Boro and England. Has represented his national side at all levelsand, standing at 6' 3", the future looks bright for this northern lad.[LNB] Unlucky seven: Manchester United's Febian Brandy feels the force of a crunching tackle[LNB]Josh Walker, 20, MiddlesbroughA versatile midfielder who has already had quite a career. He has captained the Under-16 and 17 Three Lions teams scored against Bayern Munich while on loan at Aberdeen 18 months ago. [LNB]Gary Gardner, 16, Aston VillaThe teenage midfielder, and younger brother of team-mate Craig, had a very productive season in the Villa reserves last year, helping them to lift the Reserve League South title. [LNB]Elliott Parish, 19, Aston VillaThe goalkeeper is regarded as one of the major talents for the future by all at Bodymoor Heath. [LNB]Michael Woods, 19, Chelsea The York-born midfielder has put the controversy of his move from Leeds to the capital behind him and is making great progress at Stamford Bridge. Made his debut as the Blues youngest ever player (16 years and 275 days old) in the FA Cup almost two years ago. [LNB]Nana Ofori-Twumasi, 19, ChelseaThe right-back is a product of the Chelsea Youth Academy and into his third year full-time after turning pro in 2007. [LNB]Gavin Hoyte, 19, ArsenalThe Gunners reserve-team captain during the highly successful 2008-09 season. The pacy full-back is hoping to make progress into the first-team this season. [LNB]Matthew Briggs, 18, FulhamMade his Cottagers debut even before he had sat his GCSEs. Briggs is a rangy centre-back that turned down Chelsea to join the youth side at their west London rivals, on the advice of his mum! [LNB]Sam Baldock, 20, MK DonsThe striker not be playing at one of the more fancied clubs but 'Super Sam,' as he is known to Dons fans, missed the under-19's tournament earlier this year through injury but now has the chance to shine. [LNB]Jordan Parkes, 20, WatfordThe right-footed full-back can play on either side of defence and is very much the modern defender who loves to get forward and overlap when he can. [LNB]Martin Kelly, 19, Liverpool Kelly has had to fight every inch for his place in this squad after numerous injury set-backs hampered his development but the centre-back has been rewarded with a squad number in Rafa Benitez's Reds side this term. [LNB]Jon Obika, 19, Tottenham A gifted striker who was Spurs' top youth academy scorer in the 2007-08 season. Made his full debut in the UEFA cup tie with Nijmegen and is currently in his second loan-spell at Yeovil. [LNB]Mark Oxley, 19, Hull City The former Rotherham goalkeeper is into his second season with the Tigers after making a £150,000 switch to the KC Stadium. Highly rated but injury has affected his first-team opportunities.[LNB]TRINIDAD & TOBAGOJake Thomson, 20, SouthamptonThe powerful London-born midfielder has been making steady progress on the south coast and has made several first-team appearances and benefitted from a month's loan at Bournemouth earlier this year. [LNB]NIGERIADanny Uchechi, aged 20, West Ham UnitedWest Ham are hoping that Uchechi will become every bit as good as the last young striker they took from Charlton - Jermain Defoe. [LNB]SPAINFran Merida, 19, ArsenalThis creative midfielder win an eye for a pass and for goal came through the Barcelona youth system and was snapped up by Arsenal in 2005. The Spaniard is tipped to be one of the players of the tournament. [LNB]GERMANYRon-Robert Zieler, 20, Manchester UnitedJoined Old Trafford in the summer of 2005. Zieler is rated as a great all-round goalkeeper but is particularly adeptin one-on-one and reflex save scenarios. [LNB]AUSTRALIAAaron Mooy, 19, Bolton WanderersThe midfielder has made great progress at Wanderers and his performances at a tournament in Holland this year earned him a call-up to the senior Australian squad where he appeared on the substitutes bench during the 3-0victory over the Republic of Ireland. [LNB]Chris Herd, 20, Aston VillaHas played in a variety of roles since his arrival in the midlands from Bayswater SC in western Australia. Herd is half way through a two-year contract under Martin O'Neill and has enjoyed loan-spells at Wycombe and Port Vale.[LNB]Dean Bouzanis, 18, LiverpoolThe Liverpool stopper from Sydney has won pretty much everything on offer at junior levels  - had the option to represent Greece but favoured the life as a Socceroo![LNB]Alex Cisak, 20, Leicester CitySigned his first professional contract on joining the Foxes in 2007. Has made numerous appearances for the reserve side as well as time on loan at Oxford and Tamworth.  [LNB]CZECH REPUBLICTomas Pekhart, 20, Tottenham HotspurThe Spurs striker is currently on-loan at former club Slavia Prague as, understandably, first-team opportunities at The Lane are hard to come by just now. Is scheduled to return to London in January. [LNB]Jan Sebek, 18, ChelseaAs tall as Petr Cech and, some believe at Stamford Bridge, he has the ability to become as good. No 1 regular inthe reserve squad last season after injury to Rhys Taylor. [LNB]HONDURASRoger Rojas, 19, Wigan AthleticThe Latics are benefitting greatly from their association with Honduran outfit Olimpia. Wilson Palacios is also an ex-player and the young striker will be hoping to be given the chance to make a similar name for himself in the Premier League. [LNB]HUNGARYPeter Gulacsi, 19, LiverpoolLiverpool's future No 1? Maybe. But one thing's for certain, Rafa Benitez's youth team set-up hold this Hungarian in high regard. He was also part of the side that won a youth treble in 2007. [LNB]Andras Simon, 19, LiverpoolAnother of the trio of Hungarians emerging through Liverpool's youth ranks. The powerful striker is currently enjoying first-team football with in Spain with Cordoba. [LNB]Krisztian Nemeth, 20, LiverpoolDescribed as having great movement, a fine touch and, most importantly, a lethal finish - big, big things are expected from the young forward.
