Wenger wary of City threat

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger fears his side's place in the top four of the Premier League could be under threat from Manchester City next season. The Gunners grabbed the last qualifying spot for the UEFA Champions League in 2008/09, but their manager is wary of the threat of money-rich City. Mark Hughes' side, funded by the wealth of owner Sheikh Mansour, are expected to make a host of star signings this summer, with Carlos Tevez understood to be a main target. And Wenger recognises that City could break into the Champions League places next season, while the Frenchman also believes Aston Villa and Tottenham will pose a threat. "If Manchester City have a successful period in the buying, financial market, then they could climb to the top four," the Emirates Stadium chief told Sky Sports News. "Aston Villa can get a bit closer. Then you have teams like Tottenham."
