Wayne Bridge seals six-month West Ham loan deal

Wayne Bridge has rubberstamped his six-month loan deal at West Ham with the England international after passing his medical.[LNB]The out-of-favour Manchester City defender was at Upton Park to see the Hammers beat Birmingham 2-1 in the Carling Cup semi-final first leg on Tuesday night, watching the game alongside the club's vice-chairman Karren Brady.[LNB] Man in the stands: Wayne Bridge watched West Ham's win over Birmingham ahead of completing his loan move from Manchester City[LNB]Bridge's arrival will be a welcome one at West Ham who were forced to use captain and central defender Matthew Upson at left-back in the cup win after Tal Ben Haim returned to Portsmouth last week following the end of his short-term loan stint.[LNB]Bridge said: 'I spoke to Scotty Parker and a few people and they told me what a great club it is.[LNB]'That definitely helped me make the decision to come here.[LNB]'There is a lot of quality here and I know we can move up the table.'[LNB] Moving on: Bridge has made only seven appearances for Manchester City this season[LNB]On Tuesday, Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini confirmed Bridge's exit allowing the player to move on after making just seven appearances this season, his last on December 28 as a substitute in the 4-0 league win over Aston Villa.[LNB]The Hammers are expected to pick up the 30-year-old's wages, understood to be around £80,000-a-week, during his stay in London.[LNB]The former Southampton and Chelsea star could go straight into the squad for this weekend's Barclays Premier League home clash against Arsenal, a match the Hammers will be in desperate need of three points in their fight for survival.[LNB]  Ben blunders!
