Alex Nimely played in the win over United reservesManchester City gained some measure of revenge for last weekend's derby misery when they defeated United to take their place in the Manchester Senior Cup final. City were good value for their win against an off-colour United and they will now meet Bolton Wanderers in the final. The Blues dominated the first half and only Ben Foster's heroics prevented them from being in front at the break. Both Alex Nimely and David Ball had shots that were destined for the net saved by the impressive Foster, while Abdi Ibrahim planted a header on the Reds' crossbar. United's attempts on goal were limited to Cameron Stewart's shot and a Ritchie De Laet header which shaved City's bar. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's half-time words of wisdom appeared to have boosted United early in the second half, but it was still City who looked the more threatening. Despite that, the necessity for a penalty shoot-out to separate the teams appeared likely. Then, in the 78th minute, City deservedly struck the first blow with Robert Mak placing his shot wide of Foster. Two minutes later and City's place in the final was assured when Andrew Tutte scores. UNITED: Foster, Wootton, Dudgeon, C Evans, De Laet, Gill, Stewart (Pogba 75), Possebon, Macheda (W Keane 58), Norwood, Brandy (R Brown 81). Not used: Devlin, Hussain. CITY: Karius, Vidal, Cunningham, Kay, Boyata, Warbara, Ball (Chantler 87), Tutte, Nimely (Benali 90), Ibrahim, Mak. Not used: Woods, Veseli, Ole. What do you think? Have your say. | Submit Comments| Comments (14)| PrintWhat's this? Emaildel.icio.usDiggredditFacebookStumbleUponNewsvineGoogle BookmarksNetscapeTechnoratiWindows LiveYahoo! MyWebMa.gnolia
