Trio pull out of England Under-21 squad
Micah Richards, Kieran Gibbs and Alex Smithies have all withdrawn from the England Under-21 squad preparing to face Romania.[LNB] U21s boss Stuart Pearce has seen his squad for the European U21 Championship play-off hit by a trio of withdrawals.[LNB]Manchester City defender Richards, Huddersfield goalkeeper Smithies and Arsenal full-back Gibbs have all dropped out of the 23-man party and returned to their clubs due to injury.[LNB]Friday's first leg will be played at Norwich's Carrow Road ground with the second leg taking place in Botosani next Tuesday as Pearce's men chase a place at next summer's finals in Denmark.
