Toure tells of City lure

Kolo Toure has revealed how former Arsenal team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor begged him to sign for Manchester City. The City defender, who completed a £15million move to Eastlands in the summer transfer window, also claimed he had originally made contact with the club in January. Toure said he learned of City's interest earlier in the year but a deal never materialised. He eventually made the trip north just days after Adebayor, admitting that the thought had been in the back of his mind all year. "I spoke a lot with Emmanuel at the time and he was begging me to come and join him," said Toure. "That's when I told him that City had actually been linked with me before he was. "I first learned of City's interest back in January and discussions took place about a possible move but things were a little bit complicated and it didn't happen. "It was on my mind for the remainder of the season," he confessed. "So I was very pleased to eventually get here because I feel we have a bright future. "It's an exciting club and lots of people want to be a part of it."
