Toure on Richards mission

Manchester City's Kolo Toure wants to help team-mate Micah Richards to become one of the best defenders in England. Richards was deservedly a regular in the England team during the tenure of Steve McClaren, with his powerful and athletic displays warranting an international call. But the 21-year-old's form has since slipped and he has failed to impress McClaren's successor, Fabio Capello, who has guided the Three Lions to the 2010 World Cup. Toure, a £16million summer arrival from Arsenal, is therefore determined to help fellow City defender Richards back to the peak of his ability. "It is really important to me that I help him get back," said 28-year-old Toure. "Micah is a great player and one day will be one of the very best defenders in England. "He is a great lad, who listens to everything you say. We talk at training about different situations." Toure added: "Micah is a young player who is learning. When I was 21 I made a lot of mistakes as well."
