Toure and his manager Roberto Mancini have sent out the message that the Blues must  see off the Premier League middle order as well as the big-hitters. City ended Chelsea?s unbeaten start to the league season last Saturday, having already demolished Liverpool at Eastlands. But defeat at Sunderland and a home draw against Blackburn have held back Mancini?s men in their bid to get among the early-season pace-setters. Even so, City still go into the weekend fixtures lying fourth, just four points off the top. But Toure insists that if they want to stay in touch with the front runners, they must pick up maximum points against mid-table Newcastle at Eastlands. He said: ?We just need to be consistent in our results. Against Newcastle, it?s really important that we continue to show we are improving. ?Every time we face a big team, we play well, but every time we come up against a team we are expected to beat, then we struggle. We hope that tomorrow, we are going to change that.? Those views are echoed by Mancini, who is looking at a top-four finish as an absolute minimum requirement this season. The City boss said: ?We must win against teams such as Newcastle. We must not think that we can win only against Chelsea and Liverpool. If we want to go up the table, we must win also against Newcastle. ?When a team such as Newcastle or Sunderland face City, they will play more defensively than Chelsea or Liverpool. ?This is the problem. Some teams will put a lot of players behind the ball, and it can be difficult to find a solution to this. ?But Newcastle do try to play football.? City defender Jerome Boateng is aiming to make his first Premier League start for City tomorrow, having recovered from a knee injury. Boateng sees consistency as vital and said: ?Can we challenge for the title? I think so, yes. I have come here to learn and have success with the team. ?I want to win trophies here.? Will City beat the Magpies? Have your say.| Submit Comments| Comments (31)| Printable VersionAdd A CommentEnter your comments:Sending
