Tottenham target £5m City winger Petrov and rival Fulham for Crouch

Tottenham are weighing up a move for winger Martin Petrov and are closing in on a deal for Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch. Manchester City's Petrov, 30, made a successful comeback from a knee ligament injury at the end of last season. Spurs could prise him away for around £5million. Manager Harry Redknapp also looks likely to persuade Crouch to opt for Tottenham over Fulham, who are struggling to finalise a deal as Bobby Zamora has yet to agree terms with Hull City. Sunderland dropped out of the race for the England international on Tuesday.
