Tottenham and Wigan set to slug it out for £5m-rated Spanish playmaker Márquez

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp will battle it out with Wigan Athletic for the signature of highly rated playmaker Javi M?uez.[LNB]One of the two Premier League clubs have filed a 5million Euro (£4.2million) bid, according to Spanish daily newspaper Sport.[LNB]The diminutive 24-year-old has been one of the main reasons why Espanyol have risen to sixth in the La Liga table this season.[LNB]Scroll down to see a video of M?uez in action[LNB] Wanted man: One of either Spurs or Wigan have put in a £4.2million bid for the diminutive playmaker[LNB] But while M?uez is believed to be keen on signing a new contract at Espanyol, the cash-strapped club may be forced to sell him in January.[LNB]However, they  could try to hold out until the end of the season in an attempt to tease out a higher bid - or offload another player to raise funds.[LNB]Manchester City are keeping an eye on M?uez's team-mate V?or Ruiz.
