Tevez reveals Real rejection

Carlos Tevez has claimed Real Madrid made an approach for his signature before he chose to join Manchester City.[LNB] Tevez completed a reported £25million switch to Eastlands this week, signing a five-year contract after his two-year loan spell at rivals Manchester United expired.[LNB]The Red Devils offered the Argentina international the chance of a permanent stay at Old Trafford but the forward opted to join Mark Hughes' ambitious project at City.[LNB]It is suggested Chelsea and Liverpool were also keen to sign Tevez, who claims he had the opportunity to join Real.[LNB]"Real made an offer but there was no agreement," Tevez told the Nation newspaper during a promotional visit to Abu Dhabi with his new club.[LNB]"There were talks about deals and agreements but in the end it was only City. They showed lots of interest in me and are intent on growing and signing big players.[LNB]"I am sad to leave United but I am excited to join City. I'm thinking about the future and I will grow with this club."[LNB]
