Argentina beat Mexico 3-1 but their first goal, scored by Tevez, was clearly offside and Mexico were furious. Gonzalo Higuain capitalised on a defensive mistake by Ricardo Osorio to score Argentina's second, but there was no questioning the quality of their third as Tevez lashed the ball high into the net from outside the box. New Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez scored Mexico's consolation.
