This weekend's games included a massive game at St. James Park between Newcastle and Chelsea and Manchester United travelled to Aston Villa.

Wayne Hennessey (Wolves)
The Welshman pulled off some superb saves that earned his side a massive three points. Within seconds of saving Sebastien Larsson's penalty, he set Wolves on a breakaway which ended with his side grabbing an equaliser against Sunderland.

Micah Richards (Manchester City)
Richards' performances have improved greatly this season. He has been the most consistent full back in the league so far this season and even has five assists to his name so far. A strange exclusion from the National team that only Fabio Capello can vouch for.

Vincent Kompany (Manchester City)
Solid as a rock is the term best used to describe the City skipper. The Belgian centre back has been in great form this season and his calming influence and leadership skills have been vital in keeping City at the top of the table.

Robert Huth (Stoke City)
Scored the all important winner against Everton that brought an end to Stoke's disastrous run of form. His no nonsense defensive performance was also key to making sure Everton couldn't find a way back into the game.

Phil Jones (Manchester United)
Phil Jones was also responsible for scoring the winner for his side this weekend. Another solid outing from the young England International and a nice finish as well to make sure United left Villa Park with all three points.

Yaya Toure (Manchester City)
Another dynamic display from the combative midfielder. His consistent displays at the heart of City's midfield have been a major part of their success so far this season. Added to his performance against Norwich with a lovely finish. He seems to make everything look so simple.

Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)
After a tough week for the young Welsh midfielder he responded by putting in a shift for his side against Wigan. With Wilshere out injured, Ramsey is beginning to show people what he is capable of and will hope to maintain a place in Arsenal's starting XI.

Gareth Bale (Tottenham)
Like his Welsh team mate Ramsey, Bale has had a tough week following the death of Wales manager Gary Speed. His goal against Bolton was a tribute to Speed but his overall influence throughout the game brought a sixth consecutive win for his side.

Samir Nasri (Manchester City)
Having recently been criticised by his manager Roberto Mancini, Samir Nasri stepped up with a performance that went some way to justifying his transfer fee. His creativity was a major threat to Norwich all afternoon and his influence resulted in City putting five goals past the canaries.

Yakubu (Blackburn Rovers)
The Nigerian striker is back to his best and was on hand to score four goals against Swansea. Blackburn manager Steve Kean continues to get a lot of stick from fans at Ewood Park but their fighting spirit is to be admired. Yakubu becomes only the second player ever to score four goals in a game for 2 different sides in the Premier League

Steven Fletcher (Wolves)
Two goals in the final 20 minutes from Fletcher turned the game on its head and meant that it was Wolves who came away with the win. Having been 1-0 down it was left for the Scottish striker to score twice for his team and get the three points.
