Sven Goran Eriksson unveiled as Thai club BEC Tero Sasana's technical director

Former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson has been unveiled as Thai club BEC Tero Sasana's new technical director.The 64-year-old, who left Leicester in October last year, will oversee strategic planning and support the coaching staff of the two-time Thai champions.'I believe the players are eager to learn from a world-class expert,' Robert Procureur, the club's general manager, said in a statement prior to Eriksson's arrival. 

Tropical climes await: Sven Goran Eriksson is the new technical director at BEC Tero Sasana   'Apart from the improvement of the team, I believe that his arrival will draw positive international attention to the Thai Premier League.'Eriksson, who managed Manchester City under Thai owner Thaksin Shinawatra, had previously expressed his fondness for the tropical climes of Thailand.Dietmar Hamann wrote in his autobiography that his former manager wanted to manage for a few more years before moving to the south east Asian country to reside with two beautiful women.Hamman recalled Eriksson telling him on a pre-season tour of Thailand:

'You know Kaiser, I like this place. I think I will manage for another five years and come back here and live with two women. 'Yes. I think I need two beautiful women.'As well as stints with City and Leicester, the Swede had tenures at Lazio and Benfica, and will take his post at the Bangkok club as they sit in fourth in their domestic league.
